500 lanterns to line the pier and promenade for White Rock Moon Festival, October 4th to 6th 2013

Unique and spectacular event to take place on the White Rock Pier and Promenade. Not to be missed by families and friends.

The City of White Rock is partnering with the Association of Chinese Cultural
Promotion Canada, the White Rock Chinese Arts Center, and the White Rock Rotary Club to host

 “White Rock Moon and Lantern Lights Festival”

Time for this event is 4th to the 6th of October 2013.

The festival kicks off at 5.30 pm with an opening ceremony on October 4th 2013
The three-day event will feature Western and Chinese cultural performances. This midharvest festival features music, performances, a mobile drawing unit, martial art demonstrations and 500 lanterns lining the pier and promenade.

“As a Council we’re incredibly pleased to showcase the rich history and variety of Chinese culture to individuals on the Peninsula and beyond,” said White Rock Mayor Wayne Baldwin.

“Cultural celebrations are important parts of sharing and learning about our neighbours both locally and from afar, bridging gaps and bringing communities together.” the Mayor said.
