Good
afternoon,
I just
wanted to make you aware that the 2011 Annual Report, by the City of White Rock,
is now available online (http://www.whiterockcity.ca/EN/main/city/documents-library/annual-reports.html).
The report will also be available at City facilities for
viewing.
This
report comes after a year of significant infrastructure improvements and
facility renovations within the City. In 2011, as part of our goal to create a
sustainable city, over 40 grant projects were completed in partnership with
RInC, Build Canada, ICBC, and Translink programs.
A number
of City facilities also underwent significant renovations in 2011, including the
Kent Street Activity Centre which now has an elevator to increase
accessibility. Other significant renovations include the White Rock Museum and
Archives.
In June
2011 the City hosted a celebration to mark the official opening of White Rock’s
Centre for Active Living and the Peace Arch Curling Centre. This new, innovative
facility is dedicated to helping citizens “live well.”
Last
year marked the last term for several members of Council as there was a local
government election. The electors voted in a new Mayor and two new Councilors.
As
Council looks forward to 2012, they outline their future strategic plans for the
year ahead in the annual report.
On June
25, 2012 the public will have an opportunity to comment on the Annual Report at
the Regular Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City
Hall.
