A glass of wine
To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine and those who don't and are always
seen with a bottle of water in their hand:
As Ben Franklin said:
In wine there is wisdom,
In beer there is freedom,
In water there is bacteria.
In a number of carefully controlled trials,
scientists have demonstrated that if we drink
1 liter of water each day,
at the end of the year we would have absorbed
more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria
found in feces.
In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop annually.
However,
We do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer
(or rum, whiskey or other liquor)
because alcohol has to go through a purification process
of boiling, filtering and fermenting.
Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,
than to drink water and be full of Shit.

The Surrey Board of Trade is hosting its Business and Emergency Planning Dialogue, taking place on Friday, October 25, 2013.
This session will help businesses anticipate issues, share plans with employees, and communicate with customers. The event will feature a panel of speakers, breakout dialogues and a question and answer period where the audience will discuss:
1. How prepared is your business for the inevitable earthquake that will affect Surrey and the region?
2. Cities have primary responsibility for emergency response but what happens to your business when a catastrophic event takes place?
3. What needs to be done to ensure a resilient and comprehensive approach to emergency management for business? Creating a plan can save your business. It cuts the number of decisions you have to make during the disaster, reduces your legal liability and can safeguard your business brand and reputation.
The Surrey Board of Trade asks for your participation to hear the following speakers and participate in a dialogue that will lead to further action on Emergency Planning for Business.

- I totally agree with Ron Eves..time is due to focus on the issues at hand and work as a team and same goals and ambitions...since Tourism White Rock is the number #1 'industry' and #2 is the designated 'industry' one may call as the mayor does is 'the Art & Culture'
- I'm stunned to read in the most recent local paper that the mayor is accepting and to approve budget for BIA which is severely severed, reduced on the part related to our most important entity of activity and engine for White Rock commerce...the #1 industry Tourism to bring guests and investors for White Rock commerce which is Tourism, period.
- Let's face it....read the cards right and go where competence is available and at hand...appoint present Exec. Dir. Betina Albornoz to be responsible for both Tourism and relevant assigned electronic digital Internet web based media as we know as www.inwhiterock.com & www.whiterocktourism.ca
- In any circumstance it makes sense to have an educated well versed in English and Spanish speaking person who is trained and in local matters professionally familiar with White Rock; a person since years devoted to the task of building White Rock Tourism to what it deserves now and in the future.
- BIA is another kettle of fish and its leadership and resources should focus on its main mission; to serve merchants, retailers and eateries, restaurants..the hospitality sector and periferal businesses and its membership.
- BIA is not equipped and a realistic staging area for ' driving issues and operations' required to be implemented to 'build a surging flow' of visitors we call tourists and a vibrant tourism entity to support our community White Rock..
- Efforts to encourage Tourism must and is naturally a community's first priority and before any Business Improvement Area Association [BIA] in White Rock.
- My sincere hope is that the mayor, Mr. Baldwin of White Rock can see these priorities as pointed to in this as the most credible and common sense actions to take and bring to his Council for a vote and action before Christmas.

The White Rock Business Improvement Association held their AGM last evening. [30 Sep. ‘13].
Twenty four business owners (a record number) attended the meeting at Blue Frog Studios.
BIA President JACK SIXSMITH announced four resolutions that will save the White Rock BIA over $90,000.00 annually.
Cancelling the contract with Goodbye Graffiti - $25,000.00
Withdraw from contributing to the White Rock billboard at the border - $39,000.00
BIA will no longer fund White Rock Tourism - $20,000.00
Cancel IT contract for website INWHITEROCK.COM - $8,000.00
